THE MONEY ROLL

I thought I had covered everything I wanted to say about collecting in my earlier posts, but now something else related to collecting has caught my eye that I wanted to share.

It seems there is a virtual Toilet Paper Museum whose curator is simply known as "Flo" to her devoted fans.  Flo admits on her website that her toilet paper collection started as a joke - no shit Flo!  She wanted to mock people who try and make anything and everything collectible.

And what could be less valuable than a sheet of toilet paper?

This was obviously B.S. (Before Seinfeld) and its now famous "Can you spare a square?" episode.

Flo's friends heard about her useless toilet paper collection and embraced it wholeheartedly. They started sending her toilet paper from people she has never heard of, like a Three Star Rear Admiral, from places she never wanted to see, like the "Little Stinker" gas station.

Then, things started getting serious as they began upping the ante by getting stars like Madonna, Harrison Ford and Bruce Springsteen, among others, to autograph toilet paper squares.

Before Flo knew it, she had a toilet paper collection that wasn't a waste after all, thus defeating the whole purpose of her collection.

Rather than feeling down in the dumps about this ironic twist of fate, Flo has managed to roll with it by opening her virtual museum.

Also, thankfully for Flo, because her museum is virtual, she will never have a real visitor ask her if she can "spare a square" because with the value of her toilet paper - she really can't.
